Message | Hi my name is Ronald (Ron) Clarke. I served in the USAF as a Aero-Med Tech with the 801st Medical Air Evacuation Squaderon from June 1952 to August 1954. We worked closely with the MASH units in transporting wounded from closest Air Strip to the wounded, also picking up litter patients and ambulatory wounded. Usually 2 med techs and one flight nurse on board. We would take them to med hospitals all over Japan for stabillizatoin and then Med Air Evac back to States. |

Message | My dad, Richard Cartwright is curious about his Army buddies. He was stationed at Fort Pickett, VA in 1950- 1952. He was sent to Atlanta for training and when he returned the base was empty and he was sent home. He wonders if the others were deployed to Korea. He says he was in the 981st Engineering Battalion. Any info would be greatly appreciated. |
